​Southern Hills Community Bank has long been committed to the growth, development, and general welfare of the communities we serve. We do more than write checks for donations - we show up in force, roll up our sleeves, and help organize and serve.

  • The bank has participated in the organization, funding, and delivery of community events and fundraisers for more than 140 years.
  • We strongly support our schools and children in initiatives that include athletic, academic, agricultural, and fine arts programs.
  • We march in parades and hand out candy. We serve refreshments at shows and sporting events, We proudly participate in our county fairs, 4-H programs, and community events.

Southern Hills Community Bank Scholarship

The leaders of tomorrow deserve our support. One way that Southern Hills Community Bank supports local students is by awarding scholarships annually to college-bound high school seniors. The scholarships are $500 each, and are for one academic year only.

Download and fill out our Scholarship Application. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 15, 2026. To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Reside in Adams, Brown, Clinton, Highland, Ross, or Fayette counties in Ohio
  • Be a high school graduating senior
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  • Plan to major in accounting, agriculture, business, economics, finance, or information systems.
  • Send completed application and transcript to: Southern Hills Community Bank; Scholarship Committee; Attn: Lindsay Cloud; P.O. Box 345; Leesburg, OH 45135

The Scholarship Committee will select recipients based on information contained in the application form. Consideration will be given to the following:

  • Education and career goals
  • Academic performance (per transcript requested above)
  • School and/or community involvement
  • Written communication skills- Essays will be judged according to content, originality, and creativity.

The three Southern Hills scholarship winners will be notified no later than May 1, 2026. Their names will be announced in the local media.

Community Reinvestment Act

It is the policy of Southern Hills Community Bank to use its best efforts, within the scope of its resources and in a safe and sound manner, to meet the credit needs of the entire community and to provide banking services to its entire community.

Special effort and consideration shall be given to the needs of small businesses and small farms and to the needs of low- and moderate-income people particularly in regard to residential real estate credit. Southern Hills Community Bank is adopting this policy not only because of its obligation to serve its entire community, but also because this policy will make a stronger community and in turn a stronger institution.
